  • The free blog platform can shut you down.

    A friend of mine had his $3,000 per month blog shut down by the platform he was on (Blogger). They gave him no notice.

  • They will eventually get your money.

    This is the classic bait and switch. They make it free up front and then charge for every little thing you need to do with your blog.
My philosophy on this is simple: Pay the least amount possible now to avoid all additional cost in the future.
It’s better to pay $2.75 a month now than to start a blog for free and then get charged $20 a month (ridiculous) as soon as you want to make your blog look better or make money with it.
